Thank you, Farewell, See you Soon

We gave a fond farewell to Sion last week, as he stepped down from running the club after 5 great years. We presented him with a card and gifts (which annoyingly he didn't hold long enough to capture in a photo - they're sitting on the table behind him...) - including a stunning hand-made bejewelled bonsai tree that Roubina crafted.
That tree represents the incredible community that Sion has grown at BGiE over the years. We all know he has green fingers - his allotment is testament to that - but nurturing a club full of characters and drama and turning it into a productive tree adorned with jewelled fruit takes skill, patience, and a fair amount of compost. Backgammon in Ealing is a welcoming, warm, and fun place to play & learn backgammon, and it's one of the best clubs in the country thanks to all of Sion's efforts.
Sion - from all of your jewelled fruits, thank you! Enjoy your break, and we look forward to welcoming you back in a few weeks time.
Meanwhile, the club continues with only small tinkering around the edges. One of those changes is the addition of a third one-day tournament (in July, to go along with the Spring and Autumn editions). Sion's return to play will be at the upcoming Spring Tournament on Saturday 28th March. We're fully booked, with a small waiting list. See you all then!
