Recent blogs on what makes a great club member and the brilliant crew behind the scenes that make it possible to cope with growing numbers, don't fully explain the success of our club. The third and final leg of the elegant BGiE stool we have been assembling has got to be the venue.
The venue, in turn, has three key aspects - the playing space, the food and drink and the staff. We are so lucky to have the Rose & Crown as our venue because it really ticks all those boxes. Sue and her team look after us fantastically well, giving us the whole of the main dining space to play, helping us to set up each Monday, putting on great food and drink and being welcoming at all times (including having us in early next Saturday for our Spring Tournament.) A big thank you for all you do for us!
This week we played three Swiss tournaments at our lovely venue, won by Andrew Ankrah, Henry Keane and Tariq Siddiqi - congratulations to them and thanks to everyone for coming out to play.
Next week is Grand Prix week - see you there. And remember that if any one of those three legs of the BGiE stool is broken, the stool falls over.....
