What we can already say for certainty is that what happened in 2023 won't happen this time round. That's because this year Ealing is sending only 1 team to York.
Last year there were 3 Ealing teams, all of which qualified for the main knockout, but unfortunately 2 of the teams were drawn to play against each other in the first round (as you can see in the picture.)
The rest is history, it went downhill from there, and Ealing is still in the hunt for its first ever Clubs Championship win.
We wish the 'No Squ-Ealing' team of Peter Bennet, Sion Edwards, Dan Feeny, Zigi Fibert and Yas Turan the very best of luck! Updates on their progress will be posted in the club Whatsapp group.
Meanwhile, this Monday past we ran 3 Swiss tournaments - won by Mihail Popa, Jimmy Ishac and Rob Breen. Congratulations to them and thanks to everyone who came along and played on what was a good evening of backgammon.
